March 04, 2005 From Crissy Aguirre Re: the events of the conflict between Dr. Nestell and Mr. DeRusse To whom it may concern; to SCIFRAUD and to Mr. Dewey McLean I understand that a conflict has arisen with regards to the meeting mentioned above. Perhaps I can offer some insight into the events as I was present the entire time. I accompanied Mr. DeRusse to the meeting and remained as an observer to witness scientific misconduct and fraud were it to occur. Mr. Johnson, on the whole, was very friendly and professional. A description is necessary here. He was the gentleman with long blonde hair tied to the back in a ponytail fashion. He and Mr. DeRusse conversed about geology and Mr. Johnson invited Mr. DeRusse back to have samples sliced or have slides made from his sliced pieces. It was my sad observation that Mr. Nestell came in to the meeting and behaved in a most unprofessional manner numerous times and, quite frankly, his behavior was unwelcome based on the comments by Mr. Johnson. Another student, an African American male, came in several times and made a derogatory statement about Mr. Nestell. Having heard that, I personally felt this was a very negative situation Mr. Nestell was creating. I was so upset with Mr. Nestell’s behavior that I wrote to President Witt several days later complaining about his malfeasance. I informed the President that based upon what I saw; I would be discouraging my children from attending UT Arlington should that opportunity arise. Naturally, since there is a commonplace thread of racism and discrimination in the UT system, the good President did not respond to my letter. I believe this president has moved on to another southern university. Should the need arise I would be most happy to testify against these individuals committing fraud and advancing an agenda of discrimination. If any member or judicial authority has any questions about these events I may be reached at the address below. Truly Yours, Crissy Aguirre 908 Hawthorne St. Fort Worth 76110 |
