BCC9601 Lunar Highlands surface crust. Calcian ordered plagioclase feldspar.

BCC9601 is a complete solid solution almost equal proportions of Ca and Na with a high SiO2 and K since it is a differentiated surface crust.  Dark field photomicrographs at left side and polarized at right. These images show a well formed twinned Na rich albite micro crystals at center (both images viewable area this set ~150 microns. The image captures what appears to be an oval shaped stellar grain with an Fe rich central core with high alumina fragments radiating around the edges from the center.

This image in darkfield and plane polarized light appears to capture a low Ti  iron rich spinel.
